IPS Menopause combines a soy isoflavone extract, a flaxseed extract, green rooibos, black cohosh root, vitamin B6 and a chaste tree fruit extract in one formula. It’s a complementary medicine containing vitamins and herbal supplements, formulated to help the mature female body cope with the hormonal and biological changes associated with this stage of life. Because of the ingredients involved, it carries a more detailed safety profile than most of our other products — please read “Who should take care” in full before starting, and check with your doctor first if any of it applies to you.

How to take it
Take 1 capsule twice a day, with a full glass of water. Can be taken with or without food. Swallow whole — don’t crush or chew. Allow at least 2 weeks of consistent use to notice a benefit; speak to a healthcare practitioner before continuing use beyond 1 year.
Who should take care
- Do not take if you currently have, or have previously had, breast cancer or breast tumours, or have a predisposition to breast cancer (an abnormal mammogram or biopsy, or a family history).
- Don’t take if hypersensitive to any ingredient, or on chronic medication without medical advice.
- Make sure you’re up to date with mammograms and gynaecological evaluations before starting.
- Talk to your doctor first if you: take blood thinners; have a history of hormonal or gynaecological disease, including ovarian cancer, endometriosis or uterine fibroids; have a liver disorder or develop symptoms like abdominal pain, jaundice or dark urine; or are on hormone replacement therapy, including thyroid hormone replacement.
- Stop taking it and speak to a healthcare provider if you experience breast pain, discomfort or tenderness, or any recurrence of menstruation or spotting.
- Not recommended for children under 18.
- Safety in pregnancy and breastfeeding hasn’t been established — this product isn’t intended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
- If you’re unsure how this affects you, avoid driving or operating machinery until you know.
Storage
Store at or below 25°C, in the original, tightly closed container, protected from moisture and out of the bathroom. Keep out of reach of children. Don’t use after the expiry date. Return unused medicine to your pharmacist rather than the bin or drain.
