Healthy habits to help you reach your goals

A habit can be described as something you do repeatedly and is often hard to break, therefore, you want it to be healthy. Creating a healthy habit is a surefire way to help you reach your health goals. 

Healthy habit ideas:

  1. Drink more water
  2. No screens 30-minutes before bedtime
  3. No snacking between meals or snacking on healthier options
  4. Eat something green every day
  5. Don’t snooze the alarm
  6. Learn a new skill instead of mindless scrolling
  7. Pack your own lunch
  8. Limit your screentime
  9. Reduce the amount of refined sugar 
  10. Exercise for 30 minutes five times a week
  11. Plan your meals
  12. Move more – get a minimum if 6 000 steps every day 
  13. Find time to relax
  14. Keep a journal


How to create a healthy habit:

  1. Start with a small, achievable goal/habit you want to create. For example, your ultimate health goal might be running a marathon, but you’re not fit yet. Start by committing to a 20-minute walk every day. 
  2. Create an action plan. Plan how you are going to achieve that goal and how you are going to hold yourself accountable. 
  3. Schedule your new habit into your diary or set a reminder on your phone – in case you forget. 


Remember that consistency is key – habits take 21 days to form and 90 days to make a lifestyle change.
