What do do with a minor burn
Here is what you should do in the event of a minor burn:
Remove all
jewellery
and clothing around the burn area unless
it
is
stuck
to the skin.
Cool the burn under cool running water for 15-20 minutes. Do not use ice or creams,
as this
can further damage the skin.
Cover the burn loosely with a clean cloth.
Seek immediate medical advice if the burn is
bigger
than 3cm in diameter, on the face, hands, groin
or
feet
or
caused by chemicals or electricity.
Monitor for signs of infection
such
as increased pain, redness, swelling, or pus
and
seek medical attention.
